How To reset AFP Null Password
I forgot that the AFP user account login use the null password and I changed it. I am not trying to reset it using AFP configurtion but it will not accept the blank password. Can any one tell me how to reset this on the server? I uses CASAcli to change it the first time.

Device Criteria for Registration rule
I am running ZCM 10 SP2. I want to setup registration rule so that PCs of IP address of 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x will registrated under the /Devices/Workstations/HeadOffice folder.
In the Device criteria, after I add the filter "IP Address contains 192.168.1 and click <Add Filter>, it generated "and" condition but I want it to say "or".
Anyone has any suggestions for me?
Regards
Wilson

iPrint driver upload on SLES10/OES2
I'm not coming up with much through searching, but I assume there is some sort of update to the OES2 install of iPrint to allow Windows 7 driver uploads?

OES2 SP2 install stuck in Channel Upgrade loop
I installed the OES2SP2 via Yast on a Virtual Machine. Everything seemed to install just fine. When it rebooted a "Channel Upgrade" GUI comes up but cannot connect to the SLES-10-SP3-Online media. As I watch the startup screen and services loading I see that the NIC does not start (shows dead). I've rebooted several times hoping to reinstall a NIC driver but it just keeps going back into the "Channel Upgrade" screen with no apparent way to exit to a prompt. So it's now just an endless loop.

Mirror between FC and iscsi
Is that type of mirror possible? We are currently running a 2 node cluster with NW 6.5 SP8 NSS volumes connected to an AX100 fiber san, and we're planning to migrate to OES 2 Linux VMs connected to an EQ PS5000 iscsi san. If I can mirror the volumes first, then our migration downtime should be reduced quite a bit.
If this scenario is possible, my next question is, will users see a performance impact by having a mirror with iscsi between the time we mirror and the time we migrate? I know iscsi performance isn't too good on NW. I imagine the initial mirror setup would take awhile if iscsi is slow, too. Thanks for any info.

how to upgrade a program using Bundle
I am running ZCM 10 SP2. If I have installed an application using ZCM bundle and now I get a new version and it is a MSI install with the same name as the original install. What is the best way to install the new MSI?
Should I just replace the MSI file and increment the version or create a new bundle to install the MSI and then remove the original bundle from the assignment?
Thanks in advance.

8e03: Bad Data on attachments only
I've pretty much exhausted all search engines & Novell Support, so here I am!
We started seeing the 8e03: Bad Data on attachments (only attachments) about a year ago. Initially, it started with pre-SP1 Vista users utilizing Remote Desktop (to a Terminal Services box). We've since resolved that issue.
I just had it spring up again, this time on a freshly-build (KILLDISK & OS Install), XP SP3+updates, with any attachment. The user can send e-mail all day without attachments, with/without signature (we have an image+text signature, company standard). The minute any attachment is added to a message, the recipient consistently receives the 8e03: Bad data when opening the attachment.
Yes, I've already done the Mailbox Maintenance per the Novell TID (sorry, I lost it 3 Pastes ago :D), and that didn't do anything.
The odd thing is that it isn't truly in the mailbox...it's somewhere in the Windows profile on the laptop. From any other workstation, that user's mailbox can be opened, send anything, and it works fine.
Oh sure, I can just kill the profile, and start all over, but I'm really interested in a final solution.
Do note, I consistently install anything Novell (Client 4.91sp5, GroupWise 7.02) last, after Micro$oft completes all updates, system device drivers and applications.
Thoughts?

Force all external messages through gwia?
We are linked to some external Groupwise systems for the purposes of exchanging calendar busy searches and address books, but would like to have all email between systems go through smtp instead of going directly from MTA to MTA as it does now. Is there any way to force this to happen?

Upgrade to 10.2.1 problem
I am having similar issues with the ZCM 10.2.1 update. I am running ZCM on SLES 10 SP3 with all recent updates. I attempted to install the ZCM 10.2.1 and the status is "Ready". Under the Deploying System Updates, there is 1 "Successful". When I click the 1 "Successful" or the "Selected Devices Stage" it reports that the update completed. The problem is when I look at the version of the ZCM server it reports only 10.2.0.0, ZAM 10.2.0.22715, ZPM 10.2.0.966.
I have not applied the PRU and I have tried the zman supr "Update for ZCM (10.2.1)" command to no avail.

Botched OES2 SP2 Upgrade
I posted this previously in the wrong forum...sorry....
I tried upgrading one of our servers to OES2 SP2. I followed the instructions in the documentation and tried to upgrade it via rug. Everything was fine until I tried to update it with the command "rug up -t patch -g recommended && rug ping -a". It came back with a bunch of errors that the source couldnt be found and such (I cant remember exactly, but it looked like dependency errors). I didnt want to mess things up so I decided to stop there and run the offline installation. Things were fine with that, until the eDirectory upgrade. The problem that we ran into is that this server is a VM on VMWare and has the VMXNet3 NIC on it. Problem is that SLES doesnt have the NIC driver for it and the eDirectory installation failed. But, the rest of the SLES10 SP3 and OES2 SP2 upgrades went through...
I booted the system back up and changed the NIC driver to the FLEXIBLE one so that it would pick up during the upgrade. I did that then ran through the offline upgrade process again. Of course, everything was already upgraded and when it came time to do the eDirectory part it goes through like it would when you are adding a new server to the tree. So I stopped there.
It seems to server is up and running fine, but Id like to complete the OES2SP2 upgrade process so its fully up to date.
When I try to run the "rug up -t patch -g recommended && rug ping -a" command again, it errors out saying:

Thanks!

PS...Update: I upgraded another server offline and that one ran through fine after changing the NIC to Flexible in VMWare. The only difference between the two, that I can find, is that error msg from that update listed above. Does anybody know how I can get rid of the patch for the server?

General question about agent.
My server is at 10.2.1.34693
I have about 250, XP SP3 machines with the 10.2.0 client.
I don't want to push the 10.2.1 update because of a bad Ziswin.exe.
I know I can patch the server, but can't I just wait for the 10.2.2 ??
Just curios.
Thank you!

ZCM Clustered
Hi everyone.
I´m about to deploy zcm and management asked me about high availability for it.
I browsed throught the docs but found nothing that talked about clustering per se. So I think if I could take the same approach for zcm as previous zenworks versions where one deploys the sybase database on the SAN, install zen software on both nodes, sets ip resources for the services.
I´m currently working with two(2) SUN x4100, with 16GB RAM, dual nics, 1 HBA on each hardware, and 1TB for shared storage. SAN is also SUN...
Best Regards.

ZEN NAL Refresh interval
We have a force run app we need to push out thru ZEN 7. If a client doesn't re-login after the force run is turned on or do a manual refresh of the NAL, how often if ever will the NAL refresh on it's own? For example, if I turn this force run on for workstations will they do the force run install on their own or does it require a relogin/manual refresh?
Thank you.
Thank you.

GWCheck "duplicate request is running"
When I try to run a gwcheck on one of our PO's I receive the error: "Mailbox/Library Maintenance can not be executed because a duplicate request is running." Is there anyway to reset this?
I've found some references in older versions of GroupWise that this could be resolved by using RESETMAINTFLAG option, but this doesn't seem to work in GroupWise 8.

VRDIM Error
Current environment is two Red Hat Linux servers running eDirectory 8.8.2 and IDM 3.5.1. I am planning to upgrade and change OS so I have added a new server to this environment running SLES 10 sp2, eDirectory 8.8.5 and IDM 3.6.1. I am trying to migrate my drivers from my two older systems to the new server. The migration process seems to work just fine following the documentation however when I try to start up the driver on the new server I get the following:
com.novell.admin.common.exceptions.UniqueSPIExcept ion: (Error -783) The DirXML Interface Module (VRDIM) is not currently loaded into NetWare or into DHost.
I ran an ndstrace -c modules and I see that vrdim is running. I have tried restarting ndsd as well as manually unloading and reloading the vrdim module. Still unable to start the drivers.
I have tried creating a brand new driver on the new server as well and cannot even get that driver to start running. Any thoughts on what could be going wrong?
