Jasper Reports

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 5:01am
HI,

Has anyone tried to develop Jasper reports, or for that matter importing already existent Jasper reports into iReport? I am busy looking at sample reports to see how we can build more reports for eDirectory collector but do not get the reports imported into iReport.

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 4:51am
Novell Identity Manager 3.5.1 Provisioning Module.
Novell Identity Manager 3.5.1

Hello

We are building a test/trial env. with Userapp 3.5.1 prov. module solution. I was wondering how to get "Date" info when this trial app stops working if its not activated?

and what happens if it get expires, will UserApplicaiton (Identity services) will continue to work, but only Prov Module will not work?, or will all the userAPp will stop working if not activated?

Hello everyone!

I'm made several Virtualised Applications, but I'm stuck now..
There is this application where you need to login. So users have to fill in their username and password.
The problem now is, that the username change everytime you start the program, to default..
So there are 2 questions:

Can I input a registry setting in ZAV, that shows the current user?
And if that is not possible, can I set a setting so that it remembers the last user?

I'm sorry for my English, did my best;)

Saving tabs in Firefox

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 3:42am
If I quit Firefox and choose to save all tabs when still logged in I get these errors the next time I start Firefox:

In a popup:
Service method 'public abstract com.novell.srvprv.impl.gwt.header.client.model.nrf .HeaderBean com.novell.srvprv.impl.gwt.header.client.IGwtHeade rServiceRouter.getHeaderInitInfo(java.lang.String) ' threw an unexpected exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

Red inline:
taskList: An error has occurred retrieving the task list configuration:: no response received from server
requestList: An error has occurred retrieving the request list configuration:: no response received from server
Unrecoverable error during asynchronous call (response is undefined)

It's pretty obvious I'm no longer logged in and needs to log in again but with 3.61 I had a button to get to the login page.
This is no error but gives the feeling it is, maybe it's the new Neptune theme I'm running.

There is one error though.
When logging in I get to the Work Dashboard but I can't change it since the buttons for Identity Self-Service, Work Dashboard, Roles and Resources and Administration does not exist, I have to logout and login again.

One other oddity is that the buttons for Logout and Help displays half way on the blue and halfway on the gray area.

The solution is obviously to always logout before closing the browser but I thing this could be handled nicer.

Change default IP port gwha and monitor

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 3:32am
The default port at which gwha is listening is 8400. This portnumber is the same as the Commvault Agent is using. The port for gwha can be adjusted in /etc/xinet.d/gwha, but can the communication port for Monitor be changed? Maybe in /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/share/monitor.xml?

DNS Round Robin Configuration

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 2:38am
When configuring a custom Adaptive Agent have people configured the agent to point to a round robin address that services all primary servers or have they added each server name in turn into the custom agent? I have found that regardless of the Closest Server Default Rule all servers are not accessed equally unless a round robin address is used by the adaptive agent. Does anyone have any best practice information regarding this?

NAL win closing on logon

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 2:35am
Hi,

We are having an issue when a user logs on the NAL window loads and then closes and disappears. If you run nalwin32.exe it opens and closes again, but if you do a reboot or log off it will load fine 90% of the time.
Nothing showing in event viewer and reinstalled the agent, odd thing is its completely random and there is no pattern to it, does any one have any ideas?

Designer locks up while importing from ID Vault

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 2:03am
I have Designer 3.5 installed on Win XP and it locks up every time I try to import for my ID Vault. Clean install of XP in VMWare (as I am unable to get Designer to work in openSuSE 11.2 64bit) and a clean install of IDM 3.6.1 and RBPM 3.7 on SLES 11 in another VM.
Has anybody seen this and is there something I can try. I cannot continue with my project if I cannot import from the vault.

Authentication problem after resetting of root password

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 1:55am
Hi,

I am working with a new SLES 10 SP2 server that was standing in a corner for a while, so that I had to reset the root password using the rescue CD. After some trial and error I could mount root_lv, first changed the passwd and shadow file entries manually and then also managed to run passwd to set a new root passwd. Both files look fine now. Unfortunately, root still can't log in. When I enter root as username, the system tells me automatically that the password is incorrect (single user console) or authentication failed (GUI) without even giving me a chance to enter a password. The entries in /var/log/messages are as follows: either it says "gdm: Couldn't authenticate user" (if I used the GUI to login) or someting like "login: ... authentication failed" (console). A second user (without admin rights) can login just fine. I am stuck right now and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

LinuxQuestions.org Turns 9

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 1:12am
It was nine years ago today that I made the very first post introducing LQ to the world. 3,578,611 posts and 407,152 members later, I continue to be astounded by what LQ has become. One thing that hasn't changed is the fantastic LQ member-base and the dedicated mod team. I'd like to once again thank each and every one of you; you truly make LQ what it is. Feedback and member suggestions have been absolutely critical to our success and growth. With that in mind, I'd like to use this thread to collect as much feedback as possible about LQ. What are we doing well and where can we improve? What new features or sections would you like to see? What should we be doing differently? Let us know your thoughts, we really are listening. As a thank you, I'll be randomly selecting 10 suggestions from this thread and upgrading the posting member to a contributing member for one year.

SDK Features

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 23 November 2009 - 1:07am
hi

i have a eHealth System and i want it to be integrated with Quick Books Pro. Premier, and Enterprise, so i have some questions please

1. with the SDK can i change the Quick Books form layout, rename labels of fields, add fields ?

2. how much the degree of integration with my software SDK can achieve ? i mean suppose to make user interface consistency i like to use my own accounting user interface but on top of Quick Books functionality is that possible ?

3. also about the security system can i hide some fields or forms from users and if this feature exists does it exist in all versions and do i need to use SDK to do that or its in the settings of the software ?

Best Regards

Netware 6.5 SP8 REQUESTR.NLM Abend

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 22 November 2009 - 9:47pm
Hi,

We had a Netware 6.5 server abend today and I can't work out why. If anyone can make heads or tails of this abend could you please give me some feedback.

I was not able to post the full log because of the character restriction.

Thanks,

Tristan

mkfs.ocfs2 on SAN parition when SBD already there

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 22 November 2009 - 7:25pm
I'm trying to cluster a Xen VM using NCS and OCFS2. On the SAN device (/dev/dm-2 for example) there is already a small SBD partition because having installed the NCS components and creating a new cluster requires it.

However, I seem to be unable to mkfs.ocfs2 on the remaining free space. mkfs.ocfs2 -L label /dev/dm-2 won't let me create the file system because the SBD partition is already there. EVMSGUI doesn't show me that device at all. I also tried the various other ways of referring to the device in /dev/mapper and /dev/disk/by...

I'm wondering if I'm stuck and need to move the SBD somewhere else so that mkfs.ocfs2 can just create the fs on the whole device. But I'd rather be able to create the fs on the remaining free space.

Thanks for any advice.

Missed opportunity for Novell

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 22 November 2009 - 7:24pm
I've recently been staring at the website for a product called Dropbox, which looks to be a complete clone of iFolder, but deployed for consumer use for a monthly fee.

I was wondering if Novell (or anyone else for that matter) had plans to create a public iFolder farm that people could subscribe to.

iFolder has been around a lot longer than the competitor. I would think this would be a great opportunity for SOHO customers and consumers to use iFolder.

autofs mounts unstable

Novell Support Forums - New Posts - 22 November 2009 - 6:41pm
I have an IBM x335 Suse 10.2 system running autofs {autofs5-5.0.2-0.3} client (indirect) mounting ~400 Solaris systems mounts The Suse box runs scripts across the mounts to read data from them via cron jobs. I am seeing various problems - and somewhat intermittent? issues where the job fails and reports 'no such file or directory' for the mount point it's going to. I login to the Suse box, cd to the directory and it mounts fine. almost looks like a timing issue so I've tried some different options in auto.master for the mounts in question. Using the following options: --timeout=0 -ro,intr,soft ...this maybe helping, though I do get some occasional NFS Stale file handles occasionally, but I think this occurs in cases when /etc/dfs/dfstab|sharetab gets re-written on the system serving the mount point.

I'm not sure setting the timeout to 0 (don't umount) is such a good thing to do. Will I run into longer term performance problems, etc? I'm wondering if others have seen similar or if there is a bug in the version of autofs that I'm using, etc?

thanx

Suse 9.0 help networking help

I need some help on how to get my computer online.
I can't seem to connect to my router. I have a wired connection, I've followed the instructions in the user guide, and the link it gave me no longer exsists.

I have a DLink 100/10 MBPS network card, it gave it a driver, but it didn't pick up anything from the network. Everything I've tried has failed.
