The DNS / DHCP Management Console is available on Linux (OES 2 SP2) and Windows. This article describes how the utility can be used to manage an OES DNS / DHCP Server (Linux / NetWare) from Apple Macintosh systems. Download the enclosed jar file and follow the steps below:

  1. Extract the mac-java-console.zip file. (attached at the end of this article)
  2. To launch the DNSDHCP java console run the script (from the mac-java-console directory):
  3. mac-dnsdhcp-jc-launch.sh
  4. Login to the management utility providing the credentials of the admin of the eDirectory tree. Note that the attached utility works only with SSL connections disabled.
  5. Choose the appropriate tab to manage DNS or DHCP server.
Note: This tool works only with SSL connection disabled on the LDAP server. To do this login to iManager > select LDAP Options > select LDAP Group > Disable 'Require TLS for Simple Binds with Password'

Thanks so much for making this! I always RDP into a Windows system in order to manage DNS and DHCP because there's not much worthwhile that I've found to use on Leopard or Snow Leopard.

I've been using this for 2 days only, but the stability is perfect and it works very very fast on my Macs as opposed to going the Windows route, as I have done prior to finding this.

Thanks again for the time and effort put into making this - it's much appreciated :)
